The feeling of the old tattered pages of the book in Rainbow Hematite's hands, had brought a crashing wave of memories back to her. Her pale pink eyes, had tried it's best to take in her surroundings. An old, earth library. Once it must've been populated with many humans, thousands maybe. As her fingers brushed against the dust of the other covers, she began to wonder just how many stories were lost when the gems had conquered Earth. Were stories written by the humans--about the gems? Were they all viewed as evil? Destructive? The thought filled Rain's heart with ache, but, a smile had seemed to grace over her cheeks upon seeing a old book of music sheets. "Earth music?" She asked herself, as she had made sure to be extra careful opening it. The gem had begun humming the tone, before she had put the sheets down upon an old table. Her hands extended in front of her, her fingers seemed to dance as if she was playing piano. In her mind, she could hear the music playing--not that anyone else would be able to.
Rain wasn't sure just how much time had passed, but by the smile on her face--it was clear just how much this grumpy gem had needed to play. She had taken the music sheets, holding them against her chest before exhaling deeply. "I cannot leave these here. What if they burn this sacred place?" Sacred. It was the knowledge here that had drawn her in. Would this become her new home? Rain didn't like to fight--she wasn't the best at it, but she was fast. Elegant. She'd be damned if she didn't debilitate someone, but never kill. She'd never shattered a gem in her life. Putting the sheets away, her attention had drawn back to the Library's front door. The glass was shattered, and the frame had seen far better days. That didn't matter. With a little love and care, even this place could be bright, and beautiful once more. As Rain had started to wander--something made her feel...uneasy. As if, something, or someone, was watching. "Hello...?" Her voice was soft, a tinge of fear lingering off it. Was it another corrupted gem? The last one she had encountered, had almost taken her arm off, and she didn't wish to leave such a goldmine of history behind. Cautiously she reached over her shoulder, towards the gem right at the top of her spine. As she pulled the weapon out, it was a long, straight glowing white blade. That was until she flicked her wrist, and it wrapped around itself in a circular manner. "Present yourself. Who are you? I require Facet and--" Why was she asking for their facet? It wasn't like they'd willingly admit that stuff to someone who wasn't on Homeworld, or if they were a corrupted gem. Perhaps, it was her just trying to cover up the fact she was nervous, and instead seem...intimidating.

It has been some time since that fateful day, the gem rebellion war, even at the circumstances the crystal gems faced Sylvia knew they could've won the war, they just needed to open the eyes of more gems who are more understandable. Green Pearl and Sylvia stood inside the abandoned library looking for any sort of books that could help with finding the others, she has been seperated from her companions for two years, this realization fiddled within her mind as she began dusting off a few books and reading the titles only to be heavily disappointed that it wasn't the book she was searching for. Suddenly she started to hear a tranquil humming tune coming from downstairs, it was absolutely beautiful, Green Pearl was rather skeptical as it might've been a home world gem on patrol again.
Sylvia crouched down crawling over to the railing in which she poked her head out discovering another gem! Wow! she looks just like a lapis lazuli but only more of a galactic essences one by her glistening features. Sylvia grinned narrowing her lime green eyes as she adored Rain's love for music, she even wanted to take the music sheets for herself and protect them she presumed. It was clear that Rain's suspicion exceedingly increased as she felt that she was being watched, as she continued to speak Sylvia couldn't declare if this gem was affiliated with home world as she asked for a facet similar to how other home world gems operate.
Green Pearl nodded her head towards Sylvia allowing her to handle to potential situation, she pounced over the railing and slammed her bare feet onto the surface where Rain remained, she smiled at the gem waving, " Well hello there, I mean you no harm, if anything we are on the same side here. A pleasure to meet you, my name's Sylvia..." her tone was primarily reserved with a hint of kindness to form a more comfortable first impression.

The silence was unnerving to Rain. A few minutes, felt like eons. Yet, the sudden surprise of someone leaping from the railings, and landing before her--was not something she had anticipated. At first, she seemed... Hostile. That was until she had begun to listen to the one before her. A gem was upon her body, and yet, the name was not one she recognized. Who was this... 'Sylvia'? Rain had begun rattling her brain, before she had dared to speak back to the other. "Sylvia... What... I mean...Who...are you?" Asking someone what they were, was probably not the most polite. Rain had cleared her throat, easing her weapon down. Her guard was up, but her hostility began to lessen upon the kindness radiating from the other.
"My name is Rainbow Hematite," The gem began, as she forced a bit of a smile. Warmth wasn't her specialty, but alas, she was not looking to offend. "Most used to refer to me as Rain. It became a stage name, I suppose. What are you doing here? Whose side do you speak of?" Rain knew her loyalties were to no one, only to herself. This gem didn't seem as if she was from Homeworld... Perhaps, she was one of the survivors of the Rebellion. Could that be a terrible fate as well? There was something in those lime eyes of her, that interested Rain--but for now, that was to be held under wraps. "You're not one from Homeworld, are you?"
A sigh of relief left her lips, as her weapon disappeared, shattering into a glistening light. "I don't know your side," Rain began as she had walked back to the shelves. "Or why you are here... But perhaps I can assist you in what you seek, as long as you promise to not bring harm to this library. To my home." Perhaps Rain was going out on a limb here, but the risk could be worth it. A new ally? A friend? This world wasn't as kind as it could have been, since it was seized--and whilst traveling on her own thus far had been working out--... She knew damn well it would not work forever.

Sylvia didn't take many precautions when it came to concealing her identity as a gem hybrid with most people, wearing blue jean shorts and a black short sleeved shirt with a blue infused insignia that presented something only her pearl and her mother knew of, the broken gems. Sylvia also wore black socks that came from the middle of her feet to her upper ankle section, in the center of each sock was a blue star. Know she was fully aware of the confusion, she wasn't named after any sort of specific gem at all though it was the name given to her by her mother. Sylvia blinked at Rain as she stumbled upon her words as if she we're stunned by her name, " What am I? I am a gem just like you but not entirely, I'm also half human.." she admits willingly.
Once she revealed her name she held her arms upon her waist elated to meet a new gem, " Rainbow Hematite huh, amazing! You looks so elegant" she says with her sustained smile. As Rain asked for the reasoning for why she was even at the library she turned back at the railing briefly to her pearl before giving her undivided attention back to her new friend, " Let's just say I'm looking for some old friends. I'm a crystal gem, here to defend this planet from the tyrants of home world but our numbers have been reduced.. since the war that is.. " she says narrowing her eyes as she tried to repress the memories.
So this was her home? Interesting, Sylvia don't want to intrude, " I promise to never put your home in danger, I'm glad you've got to find a place to stay, I'm looking for a book that my mother placed here a long time ago, the name of the book is called "Blue's Retribution". That's all I know for now though.. it's information that could help locate any other freedom fighters out there.. " she says while then motioning her pearl to introduce herself. Green Pearl came down the stairway and rolled her eyes at the Hematite, " Hmm... " she muttered under her breath. Sylvia turned her gaze over to pearl, " This here is pearl, she use to serve under my mom until.. she died.. " she says while placing her palm upon her multi blue shaded gem.

Half--human? How was that something possible? The concept, was unheard of by Rain. Their species were able to...? Her long, elegant fingers rubbed against her temples as she was trying to decipher how it could have been possible. This girl before her, was a creation far different than anything she's seen before. The Kindergartens, were one of the only sources she'd ever heard of for creating gems. Rain was dragged out of her thoughts, upon hearing the others excitement. A small smile, graced her lips. "Elegant? Thank you. I was made to catch the eye, I suppose." Rain, had extended a hand forth to her. "A Crystal gem, could be a good friend. I agree that, your numbers have greatly reduced. Things haven't been pretty, since the war, but you all have had the worst end of it." Her gaze saddened, as she picked up on the pain the other had felt. "I believe that, despite the loss you must have faced...You can eventually overcome the tyranny, and recollect the freedom you desire."
"A book?" Rain's pink eyes had an excited glistening as soon as she heard the news. She had been here a few days, and whilst she didn't quite recall seeing the book, she had some ideas. "Blue Retribution? If your 'Mom' had stashed it here...I have a few questions." Her attention had drawn over to the Green Pearl that had made its presence known. "Greetings, Green Pearl." Her eyes had narrowed upon the sight of the others eye rolling. "I see...My condolences for the loss of your...Mom. To have a Pearl serve under them, is quite a big deal. As for where she could have stashed this--...Your Pearl, may know the answer. Was there something she was passionate about? That meant a lot to her? I, for one, would have stashed something dear to me within the music section. To me, that's where my solace lies."

Sylvia figured her mind would've been too perplexed to gain a grasp upon how she came into existence, she kind of got the idea during her pre teen years on how it worked, though that was something entirely inappropriate so she simply listened towards her new friend Rain. Green Pearl gritted her teeth irritated by the Hematite’s presence as she wasn't fond of meeting new gems. Sylvia shook her hand agreeing completely, “We shall gain the entire planet back! I'm sure they're are some gems who have survived the diamond attack at least, which brings me here” she stated. She didn't like to start remembering being carried away into a secure location after witnessing the trembling forceful power that was expelled upon the planet a long time ago by the diamonds.
Once she laid eyes upon Green Pearl, the Pearl rolled her eyes again as she suggested Pearl knew, of course she did, it was a objective to see if Sylvia could've found it on her own, her mother’s last request was to never speak of what demonic things she’s done in the past and to challenge her into a greater experience than herself. Green Pearl shook her head, “What she's done is none of your business, Sylvia let's go” she said firmly blunt. Sylvia gave a confused glance towards Pearl as she did remember her mother’s Pearl to be quite defensive over Blue back when she wasn't born, “Pearl wait, I want Rain to help us, how about you start searching on the upper floor, me and Rain will be down here, on our way up if we don't find anything” she explained. Green Pearl sighed walking up the stairs to head to the upper floor, Sylvia turned around an rubbed the back of her hair, “Sorry about that” she said genuinely “Pearl can be pretty sour when she first meets people but all in all she's awesome and super informative since she's all smart and stuff” she said.
Sylvia lied, she just wanted pearl to cool off from her mental temper tantrum. Her attention then turned over to Rainbow, Sylvia spoke calmly, “ Know how about we check that music section, my step dad Howlite told me a lot about how my mother loved music and dancing[/font]” she said allowing her to lead the way.
